Comfort Care

I wanted to share a little bit more about some of the other services that I offer as an end of life doula. One in particular is comfort care. This is for people who aren’t facing their end of life necessarily but have had a life altering medical event that has changed what their life looks like. Such as a stroke, a heart attack, a broken hip from a fall, something that you could use support around organizing what this new life looks like for you.

That can look like a lot of things, organizing doctors appointments, making sure that medications are up to date and noted, scheduling friends visits, making sure that you have resources, if you need any sort of items in your home set up for use. The focus is helping you with that transition, especially when this is new, getting everyone settled into a routine is really helpful. Organizing and keeping track of all the moving parts so that you can focus on your care and getting better or getting stronger. This also provides your family with someone that they can rely on to navigate the logistics. This is where I feel like my project management skills really comes into play, because I love a task list, I love to keep things organized and moving forward. That is what I call comfort care and something that I provide as a doula.
